Working on the rad install.
As is visible there is not much room
When I built the car I did not want to cut the firewall so it was measure twice and cut  once

Using the dual pulleys cuts down the room I only have 1/2 inch between the pulleys and the rad support and 1/4 inch between the fan and distributor cap!

But I have 30 years of use on this  mind you this is my third engine.

The single 94  is for break in and then the Early Hexagon intake and Hexagon Air Cleaner go on

I have considered using a four bolt Merc intake and a 56 Chev two barrel  we will see the dual Hexagon looks great especially with the cast iron finned heads but a full hood and who will know. I do not normally open the hood. folks can look through the louvers.

Beside I do not go to shows  I just drive it.

Bills engine will be great  Pre oil next week and then I will light it off.

I was visiting a friends place, here are some photos of his Ford stash! This only a small bit of it!

It has been awhile! But here is the latest. I managed to get a press pass thanks to Thomas and Carsten. This is the now world known Beach Races at ROMO on the West coast of Denmark An Island just out in the North Sea. Connected by a 5 KM causeway all sand!

This car is owned by Paul Olsson of Sweden.
A 29 roadster with a B and a Graham Supercharger he has done a fine job of adapting it and his speed was excellent!
I also have close ups of how he adapted the drive if anyone wants to see them.

This photo of Paul at speed was taken by his brother Bengt Olsson It is a better photo than the one I took.

Been a while but here is todays project.

I want some carb screens for this old adapter so here we have it.

Mama and I went to the dollar store to get some birthday. anniversary. sympathy. cards for our card stock. never know when you will need one!

Wandering around I saw some sink drain traps for small bits that might plug up a drain.

Stainless steel, with just the right dia base which when I trimmed down fit tight over a 48.81,94,97 carb throat.

They fit so tight I will not need a clamp

Ah yes making stuff out of junk is what I do best!

Here is a dust pan I made for Al Clark.

Al is the originator of Northwest Deuce Days in Victoria

He is moving and had a garage sale  which I missed as We were at ROMO in Denmark. I dropped by and he had a few Deuce day licence plates left and a Mickey Thompson Con rod from his old 354 Hemi dragster engine, Had a spun bearing

So I made this for him

Now every time he sweeps the floor he will recall that engine.

As it was gathering dust on the bench now it can be used to pickup that dust!

This car was a knockout! Markus and May from Zurich.
This car was so well done and very fast.

This is progress so far
plug wires next had to order some linkage as I could not make anything from my junk box.
Notice how the carbs are centered but backwards! I can fit a generator on in the stock place. The Generator has Subaru alternator guts and is good for 46 amps  12 volt.
Cast Iron Kogel heads and the original Hexagon Tool air filter. should be nice.

I used the dual belt system as the water pumps for a truck have bearings and not bushings

So here,s the latest.

This engine is coming out and the new one will go in.

Monday, August 8, 2022

I Have had these heads for years sitting like dummies on a spare block. Now they go to work as I will put these on the engine Bill built for me and I will get the 35 Ford engine out and put in this one
More to come. I borrowed this test plate which is for a block but also works on a head and made up a sleeve for the water intake and a schrader valve to pressurize it
Put in about 45 PSI and it passed like a champ!

The Prairie Schooner

Bills new Prairie Schooner

We are so pleased Bill has it and will enjoy it as we have all these years.

Sunday, July 24, 2022

Been awhile since I posted. Finally after over 30 years I am getting rid of the trailer. Camping should be left to the younger folks. Bill is getting it and will take it to Regina. Bill has a flathead powered 27 T roadster with a hitch so he will be seen here and there. I am very pleased he is getting it and it will be used! Our Kids have many happy memories of camping  Son Jack and I towed it to the Salt Flats  for the 50 th Speed Week It has been to Waterton/Glacier National park and countless Rod Runs behind the T touring. Lots of good times!

I took the Hot Rod  for a drive and got about two blocks and KA POW! In with the clutch and coasted around the corner. Lots of noise so I walked home with my tail between my legs! Chris  the neighbour had a strap  so we hauled it home behind his 1/2 ton.

Seems a tooth came off the input drive gear and took out the cluster second and lots of teeth. Looks like a loser in a bar fight. So am getting another together out of more junk I have laying around.
Anyone checked out the price of just plain old passenger car side shift boxes! Wow! I use a -78 case and car gears and an output from a 1/2 ton "open Drive"
Fatigue I guess as I baby this thing and only have 100 HP.

Annual Christmas Toy Run
Many Cars  get put away for the winter so this takes place in September.
Lot of smoke from Fires in Washington and Oregon so a bit uncomfortable.
Very difficult for the poor folks down South,Much damage!

Notice the smoke, that is not Sea Fog!
